Meet Pat Deferio, our New Upstate VP!
VNS Health would like to issue a warm welcome to Patricia “Pat” Deferio. Pat has joined our Health Plans team as Vice President, Upstate Region. In this role, she will focus on simplifying and easing access to care, her responsibilities include oversight of growth and performance of VNS Health Medicare and Medicaid Plans across 30-plus upstate New York counties in the Capital District, Central New York, and Buffalo area.
Pat brings more than 20 years of experience at health plans in Upstate New York to VNS Health. She possesses extensive knowledge of today’s managed care landscape and has deep understanding of the complex medical needs of Medicare and Medicaid plan members.
Before joining VNS Health, Pat held the role of VP of Provider Network Experience at CareCentrix and occupied senior positions at MVP Health Care. A resident of Liverpool, just outside of Syracuse, Pat is a SUNY-Oswego graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Language and Economics. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Labor Relations from the New York State School of Labor and Industrial Relations at Cornell University and has been recognized as a Fellow by AHIP (American Health Insurance Plans). Pat’s deep understanding of the evolving managed care landscape, coupled with her insights into the nuanced requirements of Medicare and Medicaid plan members, makes her an invaluable addition to our organization.
